The fix for Empty dialog when opening "Organize Favorites" from Windows Explorer is now linked to WindowsXP-KB2497640-x86-XXX.exe (formerly to WindowsXP-KB2510581-x86-XXX.exe what was wrong)

Regarding the fix: It was just an error on the list on the web-page, not in the file-checker.

From now, Im using the full version number for MSRT because in this month MSRT was released twice under 3.18. The file-checker will also check the version-number (if filever.exe will be available).

After KB2259922 (MS10-067) was replaced by KB2485663 (MS11-033) (thanks to Maxfutur for reporting this missing update in the list) and KB955759 (Security Advisory) can be replaced by KB2492386 (optional update) the replacement for KB923561 looks like this:

   HFSLIP_PRE_RDC7.cmd

Removed:

   Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32

   HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd

The PRE-HFSLIP-extension is needed in order to rename KB969084 before SVCPACK.inf will be created. It replaces the POST-extension.

2011-03-11

Fixed:

KB2483614 must be placed in HFSVCPACK_SW1

Added:

   HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd

Removed:

   KB956744 (MS09-044: Remote Desktop Connection)

HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd makes it possible to handle updates for RDC7 (WindowsXP-KB969084-x86-XXX.exe) correctly, e.g. KB2483614.
Because RDC7 must be located in HFSVCPACK_SW1 (will be installed at T13) it will override its security-update KB2483614 when KB2483614 is located in HF will be slipstreamed).
To place KB2483614 also in HFSVCPACK_SW1 is the half solution. It must be forced that RDC7 will be installed before it will be updated.
To force that RDC7 (KB969084) will be installed before KB2483614 (and probably further updates of RDC7) it must be renamed to ...KB0969084... (leading zero).
For this purpose place HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd into the HFTOOLS folder.

Optional Network Diagnostic Tool (WindowsXP-KB914440-v12-x86-ENU.exe ) is included in SP3

2010-01-16

restored MS08-069: XML Core Services and MS09-007: SChannel (Secure Channel)

moved KB973687 and KB973685 to the optional updates.

Added dependencies

  optional KB973687 can replace KB955069 (MS08-069)

  optional KB973687 can replace KB954459 (MS08-069)

  optional KB973685 can replace KB954430 (MS08-069)

  advisory KB968389 can replace KB960225 (MS09-007)

  optional KB971737 can replace KB960803 (MS09-013)

I turned back to the state where table 2 only contains security-updates and advisories and no optional updates even when the optional update replaces an update from table 2.

That means that a security update will only replaced when its written in the security bulletin. When an advisory or an optional update will replaces a security-update, a hint is written in the description of the corresponding updates.

The file-checker can now handle these dependencies.

Example: an optional update KB973687 replaces security update KB955069

when HF contains both KB955069 will be reported as obsolete

when HF contains KB955069 KB973687 is listed as missing (when OPT=1 in INI)

when HF contains KB973687 nothing is listed

when HF contains none of them KB955069 is listed as missing and KB973687 is listed as missing (when OPT=1 in INI)
